As a Cal grad (BS ’70) and now as a practicing chiropractor for the past 40 years, allow me to explain why this White Paper: BACK PAIN & OSTEOPOROESIS, by Drs. Riley and Jan de Beur was a whitewash of the current state of medical spine care. Considering the motto of the University of California is “Let there be light,” I daresay little new light came from this White Paper. Unbeknownst to these authors, there has been a worldwide back-pain revolution waging for decades to stop the massive opioid epidemic and onslaught of back surgery.
